Celebrating Black Authors on the Rise!

According to the CLPE,  in 2017 a mere 4% characters in children's fiction  published in that year were from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) background. Even more shockingly, in that year, only 1% of main characters in children's fiction were BAME. Countless conferences state that there is a lack of BAME authors, yet independent publisher Conscious Dreams Publishing have published over 42 authors of African and Caribbean descent over the last three years!
